yesterday i turned twenty-three years old. my michael jordan. nba.
josh and i went to see live free or die hard the other day. it was the most american movie i have ever seen. it was wonderful. it knew exactly what it was doing, and it accomplished it. afterwards we saw a man wearing a shirt that said something about freedom and had bald eagles and firemen driving semitrucks into afghanistan and turning them all into god-fearing conservatives. great.
my mom scored some sox tickets from her work. they won. THEY WON! molly, her cousin, and nathan came with and (at my request), he retold the story of the seven year old boy that had been shot on memorial day. his ambulance responded to the call, and naturally the boy was frantic. they calmed him down, but after a few moments the kid was frantic again, so they started checking to see what was wrong. when they asked him, he tearfully proclaimed that it was "the first time i've been shot!" what a crazy thought. the first time...
afterwards i went out on western. i was denied service while walking through the taco bell drive-thru so i asked the people behind me if they would please order my food for me. they agreed to do so, and kindly invited me to sit down in the car, out of the rain. i accepted. we chatted while waiting for our food, and i learned that the guy was a fireman, and works in the same area as nathan. how precious. they dropped me off at the bar, and i ate my food on a flower pot. ROCK BOTTOM!
yesterday was spent in indiana, and scenic beecher, il. it was wonderful. everything a fourth of july should have: mullets, southern rock, backyard wrestling, bbq, fireworks, and FRIENDS. how cute. of course it started pouring right as the fireworks started. i can't remember the last time it rained on the fourth. it was probably some sort of terrorist plot to ruin my american birthday. i'm pretty sure that is the first time i have seen molly on consecutive days in years.
i think i'm going to summerfest with pv tomorrow. killer beats.
this is the greatest thing to happen to my work day.
